After a Long Absence....

on May 19th we headed North for a holiday on the Isle of Skye, with thoughts of a week of walking, photography and blogging. Well the first two happened, but the latter did not. While we were away, enjoying the delights of Sky, we became embroiled in a suddenly escalating house move. On our return from Skye at the end of May we had the task of an imminent relocation confronting us. The combination of packing, rationalising our possessions and getting our new house ready to move into, totally consumed us. No time for walking, flower spotting, photography, or blogging. We had inherited a garden that, although beautifully planted and cared for in it's time, had not had the attention it deserved for a good number of years. When we became it's latest custodians it stood at a height of around twelve feet, obscuring a view that we felt certain was there somewhere.

So now, after some three and a half months of domestic essentials and gardening reconstruction, life is returning to it's normal pace. We have missed the summer of flowers and walks, a sacrifice that was both necessary and worthwhile. Now it is time to start blogging once again. Time to get out with the cameras and enjoy the beautiful area that we live in. More blogs to follow, with photographs, very soon.
Robin.
